Gerindra Calls Formula E Interpellation Impossible, Why?
JAKARTA - Member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Syarif predicts that the interpellation of Formula E proposed by the PDIP and PSI Party factions will not be possible. This is because currently, only 33 DPRD members from two factions have signed the proposed interpellation right.
Meanwhile, if it is to be realized, the DPRD must hold a plenary meeting to ratify the interpellation. In the plenary meeting, the members present must meet a quorum of 50 percent + 1 or as many as 54 of the total 106 DPRD members.
The problem is, currently there are no other faction members who have publicly stated that they will participate in the interpellation proposal.
"The interpellation must follow the rules and regulations. The proposal is brought to a plenary meeting and approved for interpellation. In fact, politically it is no longer possible to ratify it because it has to be 50+1", Syarif told reporters, Thursday, September 16.
This prediction, said Syarif, is due to the progress of the proposed interpellation right to the DKI parliament. The Jakarta DPRD Deliberative Body has yet to determine the schedule for the plenary meeting. So, he looked at the proposed road interpellation on the spot.
Moreover, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has given recommendations regarding the plan to organize Formula E. Then, the DKI Provincial Government is finalizing the recommendation.
"The interpellation proposal can be said to be in place, right. The study was indeed before the pandemic. This was the trigger for BPK's recommendation. Recommendations for a review, financial independence, and what kind of pandemic mitigation", he said.
Furthermore, Syarif believes that no other faction members will be influenced by the PDIP and PSI to participate in the Interpellation of Formula E.

Syarif acknowledged that interpellation is an inherent right of every DPRD member. However, Syarif said that members of the DPRD, even though they have individual rights, will still comply with their party's decisions.
"I still have faith, because our faction is a member of the party. If we persuade them, they will go to the leadership of the party, not to the members. Obviously, it can't be denied that the interpellation is actually stronger because of the politics", he said.
Syarif also guaranteed that all members of the Gerindra faction would not dispute the decision of their faction in order to participate in the interpellation of Anies.
"Gerindra is unanimous in rejecting it because this is in line with the party's orders. If a member is lobbied, the answer will be 'you should report it to the party leadership'", he concluded.
