Anies: Collaboration Is The Key To Successful Pandemic Handling

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said collaboration and cooperation between various parties is the key to the success of handling the COVID-19 pandemic, including in DKI Jakarta.

"The keywords are collaboration, cooperation, compactness, with the same size when implementing it", Anies said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 14.

Anies gave an example in Jakarta that the police, the Army, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government are working together in their respective roles to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is on the rise.

The police, said Anies, when the COVID-19 cases rose again, took steps to limit the spread in various areas by conducting isolation and supervision through guard posts, the impact of which could be felt in the future.

"At that time it seemed like a burden. But that step, we will see the impact in mid-July, the 16th, the peak of our cases dropped drastically, what does that mean? The movement control was successful. So, the steps taken by Police Chief with the ranks were successful", said Anies.

Then, Anies continued, after controlling the movement, some of them were observed to be already positive and that is where the role of the Army is in coordinating the operations of isolation places such as Wisma Athletes, Nagrak Flats, and then Pasar Rumput.

"It's all under the control of the Army, in this case, the Pangdam Jaya and his ranks, so those who are positive don't go anywhere. As for the DKI Provincial Government, it is active in carrying out testing, tracing, and treatment (3T)", said Anies.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office, Anies continued, has a role in ensuring that all activities carried out by various parties in handling this pandemic is by applicable regulations.

The same thing, said Anies, is that in vaccination, which is currently also being intensified, the DKI Provincial Government maximizes vaccinations at all Puskesmas and mobile vaccinations at the village office, sub-district, or other public spaces.

"Then the Regional Police Chief with the Merdeka Vaccine which has a very wide reach. Then the community movement, including companies that also participate in organizing the vaccination, we form the government to provide the vaccine. So the keyword is collaboration", Anies added.
