Police Dismantle A Syndicate Of Methamphetamine Dealers Impersonating A Cosmetic Shop In Tangerang

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit arrested three young drug dealers of methamphetamine in a cosmetic shop in Gelam Jaya Village, Pasar Kemis District, Tangerang Regency. To trick the officers, the perpetrators used a cosmetic shop to carry out their actions.

The three perpetrators had the initials MB (23), MRS (23), and AK (19). They were arrested with 3.87 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Tangerang Police Chief, Kombes Pol Wahyu Sri Bintoro said the three teenagers kept the crystal methamphetamine they had in a cosmetic shop.

"So the suspects hid the methamphetamine in a cosmetic shop located in Gelam Jaya Village, Pasar Kemis District, Tangerang Regency", Wahyu said, Tuesday, September 14.

During a search, officers found methamphetamine which was hidden in a drug bag. Not only that, but officers also found several clear plastic clips inside cigarette packs, as well as an electric scale.

"Starting from public information. Armed with this information, the officers made observations in the Jatiuwung area, Tangerang City. At this point, the officers secured 2 men suspected of MB and MRS", he explained.

According to MB and MRS information, methamphetamine was stored in a cosmetic shop managed by the suspect AK. The police moved to the cosmetic shop and arrested the suspect AK.

"For the investigation, the suspect and the evidence were brought to the Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit", he said.

The suspect faces a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years.

"I was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1), subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The threat of punishment is a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years", Wahyu concluded.
