Jayawijaya Transportation Agency Finds Official Cars Misused As Inter-Regency Public Transportation
WAMENA - The Land Transportation Service (Dishub) of Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, found a number of official cars for the new districts in the central highlands of Papua which are used as public transportation between districts.
Head of Traffic Engineering at the Jayawijaya Transportation Service, Jefri Simon Souisa, said the vehicles were used as inter-district transportation.
"Like at Sinakma Market, the average is all red plate vehicles. So there are Tolikara, Lanny Jaya, Central Mamberamo, Yalimo districts that have access to Wamena City," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 13.
The Jayawijaya Land Transportation Service has coordinated with the new government, which is suspected of owning an official car used as passenger transport and operating in Jayawijaya.
Several years ago the Jayawijaya Transportation Service had detained an official car from Tolikara Regency which was operated as passenger transportation between Jayawijaya-Tolikara.
"We have handed it over to the assets of the Tolikara Government. They have also conveyed that the vehicle is not allowed to come here to carry passengers," he said.
