Video Of Man Claiming Police Beaten By Residents For Accused Of Stealing Motorcycles, Police: Not Enough Evidence

JAKARTA - A video has gone viral of the arrest of the perpetrator of the robbery of a motorbike with the mode of claiming to be a policeman in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta. In the video uploaded to the Instagram account @enewsnow, the perpetrators were seen being attacked by residents in one room.

Chronology :

I made an appointment with someone to transact the sale and purchase of motorcycles, I am a motorcycle seller.

Arriving at the appointment, the perpetrator took out a wallet to show his KTA as a police officer. it turned out that what was shown was only the rank, not the KTA. But with his words, I just believed that he was a policeman. Finally, he wanted to invite him to his office at the Cengkareng Police Station, but instead, suddenly he gasped at the motorbike and ran away with my motorbike and my cellphone. The culprit was there 2 people.

then in the afternoon the next day, my friend saw my motorbike which was just brought by the perpetrator parked in one of the houses of the residents of the Cengkareng area, with strong evidence, and convinced that it was my motorbike, I immediately rushed to the police station to ask for help in arresting one of them. The police and with the help of my colleagues managed to catch the perpetrator of the theft at his residence in the Cengkareng area.

The perpetrator was beaten badly by my friend in the perpetrator's house".

The Criminal Investigation Committee of the Cengkareng Police, Iptu Rahmat, said that his party had not yet received an official report on the incident. In addition, according to Iptu Rahmat, there is not enough evidence to ensnare the perpetrators in the criminal article.

"It is not proven, there is no element (of theft). There is no report. There is not enough evidence," said Iptu Rahmat when contacted by VOI, Monday, September 13.
