Anies: 2.5 Million DKI Jakarta ID Card Residents Have Not Been Vaccinated

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that up to now there are around 2.5 million residents who have Jakarta identity cards (KTP) who have not received a dose of vaccine.

"As of September 11, 10.3 million residents of DKI were vaccinated. There were 2.5 million residents with Jakarta ID cards who had not been vaccinated", said Anies at the Al-Wiqoyah Jagakarsa Mosque, South Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 12.

According to him, most of them have not been vaccinated because they do not want the vaccine for various reasons, so they must be persuaded persuasively.

Anies said another reason was that there were DKI residents who had moved domicile but did not release population data in Jakarta.

"This is partly because they don't want a vaccine, they have to be invited. Some of them have Jakarta ID cards but move, don't revoke their ID cards. But they are still listed as Jakarta ID cards", said Anies.

Residents who have not been vaccinated should strive to be able to complete the implementation of vaccination in the capital city soon.

"So, if there are 100 thousand in Jagakarsa, God willing, 100 thousand in Jagakarsa will be completed soon, the number will go down. We will chase it to other places. So that the number that has not been vaccinated in Jakarta, God willing, is close to zero", he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the MUI Jagakarsa Sub-district, Sulaiman Rohimin, said that to support the local government in completing the vaccination, his party opened a vaccination center with a target of 1,000 participants per day.

According to him, the implementation in the field even exceeded the target due to the high public interest.

"Our target is indeed to wipe out 1,000 participants, but in the field, we exceed nearly 1,300 participants," he said.

He hopes that this vaccination collaboration will be the first step towards other collaborations to support the government in serving the community.

"Hopefully this will be the initial stage that we will continue to the next one. The first dose will take three months, God willing, there will be a second dose", he said.
