Lhokseumawe Prosecutor's Office Detains Village Head Suspect For Corruption In Village Funds Of IDR 305 Million
BANDA ACEH - Investigators from the Lhokseumawe District Attorney's Office have detained the village head for allegedly committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds for the 2020 fiscal year.
Head of the Intelligence Section Miftahuddin in Lhokseumawe, Friday, said the suspect had the initials MS (31), Village Head or Keuchik Paya Bili, Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe City.
"MS was detained and placed in the Lhokseumawe detention center for the next 20 days. Investigators detained MS because it was feared that he might run away or that there was an attempt to eliminate evidence", said Miftahuddin, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 10.
Miftahuddin said the suspect MS was suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds, including buying a motorbike for the village using a personal name.

Then, the rehabilitation of the needy houses did not fit the budget, did not pay village taxes, and was also suspected of abusing the remaining funds over the 2020 Budget.
"Based on the results of the Lhokseumawe City Inspectorate audit, the actions of the suspect MS have harmed state finances amounting to IDR 305 million", said Miftahuddin.
Miftahuddin said investigators from the Lhokseumawe District Attorney continued to complete the case file by requesting statements from several witnesses and collecting evidence.
"Investigators are still working on completing the case files so that they can be immediately transferred to the corruption court. There may be more suspects, depending on the results of the investigation", said Miftahuddin.
