KPK Asks Leaders In Mataram To Collaborate With All Parties To Fight Corruption
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) cooperates with religious leaders, community leaders, and traditional leaders to eradicate corruption.
This is important because this step cannot only be carried out by the KPK, while these figures are considered as role models in the community.
This statement was conveyed by the Director of Community Participation Development of the KPK Kumbul Kusdwidjanto Sudjadi in anti-corruption education activities and technical guidance to 34 figures in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Thursday, September 9 to today.
"In eradicating corruption, it is necessary to have a joint role from all elements of society. For this reason, religious leaders, community leaders, and traditional leaders can invite the community to participate in eradicating corruption", said Kumbul in a written statement, Friday, September 10.
He also invited the public to become BNSP certified anti-corruption counselors to be able to educate the public. In addition, said Kumbul, local governments are also encouraged to implement anti-corruption education in schools and universities.
The KPK, continued Kumbul, has three strategies in eradicating corruption. In addition to anti-corruption education through counseling and the application of anti-corruption materials in schools, there are also prevention and prosecution.
In the prevention strategy, Kumbul said, the KPK encourages the improvement of the system in public services to make it more transparent and accountable, so that the gaps in corruption can be closed.

In addition, the KPK also asks organizers to report their assets so that integrity and transparency can be maintained.
"To provide a deterrent effect from legal sanctions and social sanctions, the KPK uses the third strategy, namely taking action. The public can participate through reporting allegations of corruption by utilizing the KPK public complaint channels, such as telephone number 198, WhatsApp, KPK Whistleblower System (KWS), or physical reporting at the KPK building", said Kumbul
For the KPK, the involvement of community participation is important and must be done. Kumbul ensures that everyone has the opportunity and can contribute to the eradication of corruption according to their respective capacities.
"Similarly, religious, community and customary leaders are role models in society as well as students who are educated with the noble values of religion," he said.
Responding to the KPK's statement, the leadership of the Abu Hurairah TGH Islamic Boarding School. Fakhrudin Abdurrahman said he and his staff were ready to socialize anti-corruption values to the congregation and the people.
"All 70 Ustaz from Abu Hurairah Islamic Boarding School who used to be lecturers in mosques are ready to simultaneously give their lectures on the theme of anti-corruption as a form of support for anti-corruption education for Muslims", he concluded.
