Fleeing To Bima, Construction Worker Who Breaks Into ATM In Canggu Bali To Steal Rice Arrested
DENPASAR - A construction worker named Fransiskus Donatus Besin was arrested by the Bali Police team. Perpetrators broke into BPD ATMs, Canggu, North Kuta, Badung Regency. This young man from NTT has also stolen from villas, schools, and even stolen rice.
"The person in question has committed theft three times. There are three recognized crime scenes, the first was the theft at the Ubud villa, the theft at an elementary school and he also stole rice. There may be new TKPs (crime scene), later we will reveal them again", said the Director-General of the Bali Police, Kombes Ary Satriyan, at the Bali Police Headquarters, Friday, September 10.
The burglary of the BPD Canggu ATM machine was carried out by the perpetrators on Tuesday, August 31. He forced the rolling door open by breaking the lock.
The perpetrator failed to withdraw money from the ATM. This incident was known to an employee. The perpetrator immediately fled.
"The ATM was tampered with using an iron. Then, the glass was broken but the person concerned did not manage to take the money in the ATM", said Kombes Ary.
From the investigation, it is known that the perpetrator fled to Bima, NTB. The perpetrator was arrested on Thursday, September 9.
"He migrated (to Bali) to get a job as a construction worker while working as a construction worker he did (theft)", he added.

The police confiscated the evidence used to break into the Canggu BPD ATM. There is also evidence stolen at the school including computers.
"The modus operandi (of breaking into ATMs) was that the perpetrators entered by destroying the front door and breaking into the ATM in the bank. The loss suffered was IDR 3 million", said Kombes Ary.
