Not Helped 3 Convicts In Tangerang Prison Drug Cases Finally Died, The Total Becomes 44 People

JAKARTA - The number of inmates who died as a result of the fire incident at the Class I prison in Tangerang has increased again. Noted, 3 inmates died as a result of the incident.

"Initial information is there are two but there is an additional one, so there are three inmates who died", said Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections, Rika Apriyanti, to VOI, Thursday, September 9.

Based on the data, the three inmates are narcotics convicts. They were previously among the victims who had suffered serious injuries. They died after undergoing intensive care.

"The three of them are narcotics convicts", said Rika.

With this additional death toll, a total of 44 inmates died as a result of the deadly fire.

The identities of the three inmates who died included Hadiyanto, Adam Maulana, and Timothy Jaya.

The Tangerang Class I prison caught fire on Wednesday, September 8, in the early hours of the morning. So far, the cause of the fire is still being investigated. However, it is suspected that the cause was an electric short circuit.

However, as the investigation process progressed, the police found a suspected criminal act behind the fire incident. To prove it, 20 witnesses have been questioned.
