Narcotics Prisoner Dies With Bruises, Wife Reports To North Sumatra Police
MEDAN - A prisoner of narcotics case from the Medan City Police with the initials AP (33) is suspected to have died with bruises all over his body. His wife, FI (26) reported this to the North Sumatra Police.
Family lawyer M Sai Rangkuti said the report of AP's wife was recorded with the report number: STTLP/1357/VIII/2021/SPKT/POLDASUMUT.
Sai explained that before he died, AP was arrested in a drug possession case on August 2, 2021, with 1 gram of shabu as evidence. During AP's detention, his wife had a hard time meeting her husband
"According to his wife's statement, during his 23-day detention, his wife was only allowed to visit the AP. It was only 15 minutes", said Sai, Monday, September 6.
Regarding the death of AP, said Sai, the family received information that it happened on the night of August 23, 2021. Whereas before he died, precisely at 22.00 WIB, FI had time to communicate with AP.
"At 22.00 WIB he was still talking and at 23.30 WIB he was dead", he said.
After he died, the family received information from the police that the victim died due to illness. But strangely when the body was brought to the house there were bruises on several parts of the body.
"There are blue bruises all over his body, ears, neck, and chest", he said.

On the suspicion of this persecution, the family objected and reported it to the North Sumatra Police. They hope that whoever did it is brought to justice according to the applicable law.
"Whoever the perpetrators must be prosecuted, whether prisoners or the police themselves. So, as the National Police Chief said, there should be no crying and tears at the police station", he said.
Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi, will check the report of the AP family.
