5 Million Sinovac Vaccines Are Coming Again, Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Don't Be Picky On Vaccines

JAKARTA - Indonesia has again received 5 million doses of the Sinovac type of COVID-19 vaccine today. The vaccine arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport using a special container.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartato said that today's Sinovac vaccine came in finished form. In total, there have been 33 million doses of the finished Sinovac vaccine received by Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Sinovac vaccines in bulk form (raw materials) have received 153.9 million doses.

"It is calculated since the first arrival of the vaccine was exactly 10 months ago, so this arrival is the arrival of the 50th stage. This 50th arrival is clear evidence that the government continues to strive to ensure the availability of stock to meet the needs of vaccines in Indonesia", said Airlangga at a virtual press conference, Monday, September 6.

Airlangga said that the addition that just arrived this afternoon of 5 million doses of Sinovac's production ensures that the vaccine stock is safe. The government ensures safety or safety, quality, and efficacy or efficacy for all types of vaccines obtained.

Then, the vaccines provided in Indonesia have gone through an evaluation process by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), recommendations from the Indonesia Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ITAGI) and WHO, as well as experts. Therefore, Airlangga asked the public not to choose the desired vaccine.

"People don't need to hesitate or worry about receiving vaccines, all vaccine brands have the purpose of protecting the community, therefore there is no need to be picky and the best vaccine is the vaccine currently available", said Airlangga.

In addition to the Sinovac vaccine, currently, Indonesia has also received 19.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, 8 million doses of Moderna, 2.75 million doses of Pfizer, and 8.25 million doses of Sinopharm.

Overall, Indonesia has received 225.4 million doses of vaccines from various brands, both in bulk and ready-made vaccines.
