Man In Malang Arrested For After Harvesting Cannabis On The Slope Of Mount Lumajang

MALANG - Malang Police Narcotics Satres team arrested a man, TB (30) Lumajang resident for being a marijuana dealer in Malang. He got this supply of marijuana from the results of his own cultivation.

The perpetrator was arrested in Pakis, Malang Regency on Wednesday, September 1. During the investigation, he admitted that he got marijuana from his own harvest on the slopes of a mountain in Lumajang.

Malang Police Chief, AKBP Raden Bagoes Wibisono said, initially, the perpetrator got these cannabis seeds or seeds from Bali while he was working there. There he learned how to grow this cannabis plant and succeeded.

"He has started planting since 4 months ago in his native area on the mountain slopes of Lumajang Regency", said AKBP Raden Bagoes, Friday, September 3.

From there, the perpetrator tried to sell his marijuana with a profit of around IDR 2 million. When secured, the police confiscated evidence in the form of 56 marijuana trees.

"I was surprised that marijuana can also be grown here, in East Java, this seems like the first time. I urge anyone who finds a plant like this, please report it", continued the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator admitted that it was fun trying to grow marijuana at first. By selling marijuana, perpetrators can earn up to IDR 2 million in profits.

"The price is expensive if in Lumajang it can be up to IDR 100 thousand. Finally, I tried planting and it worked. Then I went to a boarding house in Malang and it turned out that someone was buying it", said the perpetrator.

The perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 114 paragraph (1) Sub-Article 111 paragraphs (2 and 1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
