The Police Will Apply Odd-Even At The Access Toll Gate To The City Of Bandung

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Traffic Unit together with the Bandung City Transportation Service has implemented odd-even blocking for vehicles leaving the toll gate access to the city of Bandung.

Head of Bandung Traffic Police, AKBP Rano Hadiyanto, said the odd-even blocking was implemented to limit the mobility of residents during the implementation of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"Toll gates enter the city of Bandung, starting at the Pasteur, Pasir Koja, Moch. Toha, Kopo, and Buahbatu toll gates", said Rano at the Bandung Police Station, West Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1st.

According to Rano, the odd-even implementation will start at 06.00 WIB until 21.00 WIB. The implementation is only on the weekend of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting from Friday, September 3.

The odd-even blocking, he said, was only planned to be held at toll gates so far. As for the implementation in the city center, according to him, his party together with the Bandung City Government are still evaluating.

"Whether it needs to be in the city center or not, it will be held at the Road Transport Communication Forum with the results of the analysis from the Bandung City COVID-19 Task Force", he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bandung, Oded M Danial, said that the number of COVID-19 cases in the City of Bandung during the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 3 in the City of Bandung continued to decline significantly.

According to Oded, currently, the City of Bandung has the status of an Orange Zone based on the mapping of the level of alertness in West Java. Even so, Oded again reminded residents to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"People's mobility and activities have increased, a gradual relaxation is applied. However, PPKM activities must be accompanied by prokes so that COVID-19 cases continue to decline", said Oded.
