COVID-19 Update As Of September 1st: New Cases 10,337, Active Cases 189,571
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 220,061 specimens were examined with the result that there were 10,337 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,100,138 people and active cases are 189,571", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, September 1.
Today's recovered cases increased by 16,394 cases, bringing the total to 3,776,891 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 653 people and a total of 133,676 people.
The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1,255 cases and a total of 692,178 cases. Followed by East Java which has 1,122 new cases with a total of 384,374 cases. Central Java has 957 new cases and a total of 470,278 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 731 new cases and a total of 97,035 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 1,779 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 1,480 recovered cases, North Sumatra with an increase of 1,403 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 1,112 recovered cases.
No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 32,415,133.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.30 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 251,359 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 63,944,955 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 36,343,220 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination for health workers was 648,704. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
