Case Of Alleged Corruption Of COVID-19 Funeral Honor, Police Search Jember BPBD Office
JEMBER - The Corruption Crime Unit Team of the Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit searched the Jember Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The search was related to allegations of irregularities in the budget for funeral fees for COVID-19 corpses.
"The search is to follow up the investigation process because investigators need a number of data and documents needed for this", said Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Komang Yogi Arya Wiguna, at the Jember BPBD office, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1.
The Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit of Criminal Corruption Team arrived at the Jember BPBD Office at around 10.30 WIB by conducting an initial search of the room of the Acting Head of the Jember BPBD M. Djamil, then moved to the room of the Jember BPBD Emergency and Logistics Head, Penta Satria who was next to him.
"There are several rooms that we searched to look for data support, both soft and hard copies related to the funeral fees for COVID-19 bodies", he said.
The process of investigation and investigation carried out by the police at the Jember BPBD Office was related to the COVID-19 funeral honors which had gone viral with several officials receiving salaries, including the Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto, and reportedly there was also a cut in the honorarium received by funeral volunteers.
"We are conducting investigations and investigations. Later, a case will be held according to existing regulations and currently, we are still focusing on the issue of COVID-19 funeral fees", he said.

Even the Acting Head of the Jember BPBD and the Head of the Emergency Department were again examined on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, until 23.00 WIB, and the examination related to the COVID-19 funeral fee was also assisted by the East Java Police team so that the results of the examination could be maximized.
