Viral: Cave With Gold Flakes In Deli Serdang, Head of District Gives Explanation

MEDAN - Video footage showing the number of gold flakes stuck to the cave wall has gone viral on social media. After being traced, the location was in the tourist area of Goa Tao 8 Putri in STM Hulu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

In the video that circulated, several people were seen entering the cave. When entering the front of the cave, the owner of the video said the cave resembled a human face.

They then went inside and shot the walls of the cave. While doing so, it appears golden yellow flakes.

They say gold, however, should not be taken because the location of the cave is still sacred.

"In the cave, there is a lot of gold, but you can't take it, guys. It is said that this place is still very sacred", wrote the uploader in the narration in the video.

Separately, the Head of the STM Hulu sub-district, Budiman, confirmed that the location of the cave was in his area. But he denied that the shard was gold.

"As far as I know there is no (gold). If there is gold content or something like that, it must be famous too, boom. But there's nothing", said Budiman, Wednesday, September 1.

According to Budiman, while he was on duty there were indeed fragments like in the video. But scientifically, no one has confirmed that the flakes are gold.

"No, it's been almost two years since I've worked here and I've often been there, nothing has ever been shown (it's gold). But if there's information in the future, I'll inform you. But so far it's not (gold)", said Budiman.
