Unlike Juliari, Former Subordinates Get Justice Collaborator Status
JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the Corruption Court decided to grant the request of Justice Collaborator (JC) filed by the defendant in the bribery case for the procurement of social assistance of COVID-19, Adi Wahyono.
With the granting of the request, Adi Wahyono will be a witness to the perpetrators and will cooperate with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"The panel of judges thinks to approve the defendant's application as a justice collaborator in a quo case", said a member judge during the trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 1.
One of the reasons the panel of judges granted the request was because during the trial Adi Wahyono was proven not to be the main perpetrator. He is considered only carrying out orders from Juliari Peter Batubara.
"The defendant is not the main perpetrator, the defendant admits the crime he has committed, the defendant testifies as a witness and provides very significant evidence to reveal other actors who have a bigger role", said the judge.
Then, the panel of judges also considered the matter of Adi Wahyono who had returned assets resulting from a corruption crime. Where the number reaches hundreds of millions.
"The defendant has also returned the basic food assistance fee of IDR 284 million in the KPK holding account", said the judge.

Adi Wahyono was sentenced to 7 years in prison in the bribery case for the procurement of social assistance of COVID-19 in the Greater Jakarta area. In addition, he was also sentenced to a fine of IDR 350 million, a subsidiary of 6 months in prison.
In the verdict, Adi Wahyono was declared legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption.
His actions violated Article 12 letter b in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 Jo of Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code, Jo of Article 64 paragraph (1) Criminal Code.
