Don't Talk Much After Being Subjected To Heavy Sanctions, Lili Pintauli Just Says Thank You

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Lili Pintauli Siregar, did not say much after being sentenced to severe sanctions by the KPK Supervisory Board. She only thanked her after the session was closed by the Chairperson of the Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean Ethics Council.

"Thank you, sir", said Lili as quoted from the online trial that was held on Monday, August 30.

"So Maam, do you have something to say?", asked Tumpak ending the trial.

"Thank you, sir", said the former Commissioner of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).

In this trial, the KPK Supervisory Board decided that Lili was guilty and violated the code of ethics because she was related to the litigant, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor, M Syahrial.

She was declared to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abusing the influence of the KPK leadership for personal interests and dealing directly with parties whose cases are being handled by the KPK as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph 2 Letter b and Dewas Regulation No. 2 of 2020.

"Try and declare the examinee Lili Pintauli Siregar guilty of violating the code of ethics and behavioral guidelines in the form of abuse of influence as a KPK leader for personal interests and dealing with parties whose cases are being handled", said Tumpak when reading the verdict.

Furthermore, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Board sentenced Lili to severe sanctions in the form of a year's salary deduction.

"Punishing the examinee with severe sanctions in the form of cutting her basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months", said Tumpak.

Two things incriminate Lili so that she was sentenced. He is said to have shown no remorse for her actions and did not set an example and role model as a KPK leader in carrying out IS.

While the mitigating thing is that Lili admits her actions and has never been sentenced to ethical sanctions. This decision was taken at the Assembly Deliberation on Thursday, August 26 with Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean as chairman, Albertina Ho, and Harjono as members of the assembly.
