JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts a number of areas in Indonesia have the potential for heavy rain, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, and Lampung.
Based on information compiled by ANTARA from the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Saturday, similar weather is also predicted to occur in West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.
Strong winds have the potential to hit Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and West Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to hit Aceh, Riau, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, North Maluku and Papua.
Floods have the potential to occur in Aceh, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku and Papua.
Heavy rain in the waters has the potential to occur, among others, in the waters of North Aceh, the western waters of Bengkulu-Lampung, the Malacca Strait, the Karimata Strait, the Makassar Strait, the western Java Sea, the Sulawesi Sea, Bone Bay, Tomini Bay, Maluku Sea, Halmahera Sea, Cendrawasih Bay, North Halmahera-Papua waters, and Banda Sea.
The BMKG also said there was a potential for forest fires in East Nusa Tenggara.
