Saptoyoga Advances To Tokyo Paralympics T37 100 Meter Final Run

JAKARTA - Indonesian para-athletic athlete Saptoyoga Purnomo advanced to the final round of the 100-meter T37 Paralympics Tokyo 2020 event which took place at the Olympic Stadium, Tokyo, Japan, Friday.

Cited from Antara, Saptoyoga won the fastest time in Heat 1, which was 11.33 seconds, ahead of Andrei Vdovin (Russia) with 11.34 seconds, Gabriel Christian Luiz da Costa (Brazil) 11.51 seconds.

Then, Vladyslav Zahrebelnyi (Ukraine) was in 4th place with a time of 11.77 seconds, followed by Mateus Evangelista Cardoso (Brazil) with 11.79 seconds, and Brian Lionel Impellizzeri (Argentina) with a time of 12.56 seconds.

In Heat 2, Nick Mayhugh of the United States broke the record with a time of 10.97 seconds, followed by Chermen Kobesov of Russia with 11.32 seconds, and Gomes de Mendonca (Brazil) with 11.45 seconds.

In fourth place, Ali Alnakhli from Saudi Arabia with a time of 11.57 seconds, then C du Toit from South Africa (11.58 seconds), and finally David Pleitez from El Salvador with a time of 12.72 seconds.

The final round was attended by eight athletes, namely from each Heat three fastest runners were taken, plus two runners with the fastest accumulated time afterward.

With these results, Saptoyoga entered the final along with seven other runners, namely Andrei Vdovin (Russia), Gabriel Christian Luiz da Costa (Brazil), Nick Mayhugh (USA), Chermen Kobesov (Russia), Gomes de Mendonca (Brazil), Alnakhli (Arabic). Saudi), and C du Toit (South Africa).

The final match of the 100 meters T37 will be held on the same day, Friday, at around 17.25 p.m. Indonesian Western Time.

In addition to the 100-meter number, the athlete from Banyumas, Central Java also took part in the 200-meter T37 at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
