The King's Band Chronology Announces Disbandment But Cancels

JAKARTA - The news from the Sultan's Band shocked the public. Last Sunday, August 22, they announced their disbandment through a written announcement to the media. Apparently the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic was the cause of the decision to disband.

due to lack of work during the Covid-19 pandemic. The personnel could not last long enough. The king initially declared disbanded after the guitarist Mike left first.

"At first Mike was behind the scenes. He wanted to be behind the scenes, 'It's time for me to be behind the scenes. No longer in front as a musician.'

The other signs of disbanding have also been noticed by Ferry, guitarist of the Sultan. He feels that since the Covid-19 pandemic began to plague the country, the band has faltered and rarely communicates.

"Indeed, we rarely see each other. The last gig together was in Tanggarong, East Kalimantan, December 2020. With a strict process and a limited audience," said Ferry.

This group was originally known as D'Sugarindas. The song titled CINTA soared in name, so that it had many fans. Two days after the news of the disbandment, Sultan saw the response of disappointed fans and then decided to take a break and not disband.

Andra also ensured that the remaining four members of the Sultan, Feri (guitarist), Wendy (bassist), and Ivan (drummer) were still together. However, they worked on their own projects to fill the void in the band's activities.

"The language is a bit scary if you say disbanded. Actually we are more focused on our respective projects first. Because we have activities with our respective bands. We continue to have contracts with our respective labels, so we will do this first, " said Andra quoted from the Warta Kota Production YouTube channel, quoted Thursday, August 26.

"If we are still matched again, together we work together, we can walk even without Mike," added Andra.
