COVID-19 Update As Of August 25: 18.671 New Cases, 257.677 Active Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 249.265 specimens were examined with the result that there were 18.671 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4.026.837 and active cases are 257.677", the data quoted from the Ministry of Health said, Wednesday, August 25.
Today's recovered cases increased by 33.703 cases, bringing the total to 3.639.867 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1.041 people and a total of 129.293 people.
The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 5.464 cases and a total of 681.304 cases. Followed by East Java which has 1.619 new cases with a total of 376.784 cases. North Sumatra has 1.020 new cases and a total of 91.737 cases. Then, DI Yogyakarta has 873 new cases and a total of 146.736 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 13.486 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 2.690 recovered cases, North Sumatra with an additional 2.030 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 1.501 recovered cases.
No province has reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 31.119.684.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.30 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 258.191 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 59.011.333 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 33.094.505 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
