Muhammad Kece Threatened With 6 Years In Prison For Religious Blasphemy

JAKARTA - The National Police said that Muhammad Kece was suspected of having multiple articles in the alleged blasphemy case. In this case, the penalty is 6 years in prison.

The article that will be suspected is about deliberately spreading information that can create feelings of hatred, hostility in society based on SARA. Where it is stated in Article 28 Paragraph 2 juncto Article 45 A paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.

"You can be snared by this sentence, you can be sentenced to 6 years in prison", said Head of Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Birgjen Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Wednesday, August 25.

Then, in this case, Muhammad Kece will also be charged with Article 156 a of the Criminal Code. Where the article regulates blasphemy.

For information, the suspect in the alleged blasphemy case, Muhammad Kece, was arrested on Tuesday, August 24, at around 19.30 p.m. local time.

Muhammad Kece was arrested in his hiding place in Banjar Untal-Untal, Dulang Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. He was alone in the hiding place.
