Residents Of Binjai Complain About Illegal Racing On Megawati Street Binjai

MEDAN - Residents who pass through Megawati Street, Binjai City, North Sumatra are worried about illegal racing in the area.

The illegal racing activity was recorded and the video went viral on social media. In the video, you can see a crowd of young people gathered on the side of the road and several people riding motorbikes at high speed.

The narration of the video also contains residents' concerns about illegal racing activity.

"Megawati Street is no longer conducive. Please, sir, arrange it again", wrote the uploader who was seen on Monday, August 23.

The Head of the Public Relations Subsection of the Binjai Police, Siswanto Ginting, when confirmed, admitted that there was illegal racing activity in the Megawati Street area. He emphasized that his party routinely patrols the area.

"We do patrols every day, just like cat and mouse. When the police have gone, they start the race", said Siswanto confirmed by VOI.

In addition, there are several things that make controlling the illegal racing action constrained.

"It's partly under the jurisdiction of Sunggal (Medan Police). So if we chased them, they run to the area there, but we're still coordinating", he said.
