Deputy Governor Of DKI Supports Police To Apply Odd-Even Tickets
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted to supporting the Jakarta Metro Police if they wanted to apply fines for odd-even violators during the PPKM Level 4.
"I think it's a good proposal. We support the efforts of the Metro Police in order to discipline people who are not disciplined with the existing rules and regulations," said Riza at City Hall, Thursday, August 19.
This Gerindra Party politician also considered that odd-even effective in suppressing the mobility of private vehicle users. According to him, the mobility restriction approach taken by the Metro Police is also effective in reducing COVID-19 cases.
"In the past, 2020 was effective. So far, the results have been pretty good," he said.
Previously, Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo admitted that his party was considering the application of sanctions in the form of giving fines to four-wheelers who violated the odd-even regulations.
Before applying the fine, Sambodo admitted that his party would first ensure that traffic signs were installed on roads that currently apply odd-even.
“The point is we can just use the ticket. Later we will see the signs because odd-even are marked with signs. If someone violates odd-even, it means a violation of traffic signs article 287 paragraph one. So, we first make sure the area that is made odd-even, "said Sambodo.
Until now, the form of sanctions given is that violators are asked to turn back. Thus, only vehicles that match odd or even dates. "So far, we have turned it around," said Sambodo.
On the other hand, Sambodo also said that from the monitoring of the implementation of the odd-even scheme, the community is still fairly disciplined. Not many violations occurred.
"People's awareness and discipline are very good. There are not many violations in the odd-even routes," said Sambodo.
For information, the odd-even implementation will take effect from Thursday, 12 August 2021. This scheme is valid from 06.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB.
The odd-even implementation in the capital city will continue along with the extension of the PPKM in Java and Bali. This scheme is implemented at 8 points, including Jalan Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, and Jalan Gatot Subroto.
