Coordinating Minister Luhut Asks For Improvements In A Week, Bali Deputy Governor Claims COVID-19 Cases Have Dropped
DENPASAR - Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati or Cok Ace claims that the number of COVID-19 cases on the Island of the Gods has decreased. Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan asked the Bali Provincial Government to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases within a week.
Cok Ace explained, the daily cases of COVID-19 in Bali decreased in the range of 700 cases. Previously, daily cases reached more than 1.000 people exposed to the coronavirus.
"It has been seen that it has decreased and is in triple digits now. In fact, yesterday I saw that 700 (it has decreased)", said Cok Ace, at the Bali Governor's office, Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, August 19.
After the instruction of Coordinating Minister Luhut, the officers immediately moved. But indeed the case of COVID-19 in Bali is called Cok Ace fluctuating.
"Indeed, the model fluctuates and we did not expect this figure to be 20 (now) almost 2000", he added.
Currently, the Bali Provincial Government is targeting testing and tracing for more than 8.000 people per day. Previously, testing only reached 4.000 a day.
"Our ability before we used volunteers was around 4.000, our target is above 8.000. We are heading there now, we have 5.000 tracing testings now, hopefully, the target is 8.000", he said.
As for the COVID-19 death rate, Cok Ace said that there were dozens of deaths per day because the patient had a congenital disease. There are also patients who have not been vaccinated.
"This is what we are suppressing, 10 percent of those who die because they have not been vaccinated", said Cok Ace.

Previously, Coordinating Minister Luhut had targeted that the handling of COVID-19 cases in Bali to be improved by setting up centralized isolation and increasing testing and tracing close contacts.
"I think in one week there will be improvements. Yes, there must be improvements, Mr. Governor has been informed earlier because in other places it can't be done here, it means that friends in Bali don't take care of the trust of outsiders to come here", said Minister Luhut in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, August 12.
