Greysia/Apriani Get Prizes Of IDR 76 Million And Free Land And Building Tax For Life From The Regent Of Tangerang
JAKARTA - Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar awarded IDR 76 million and freed the Land and Building Tax (PBB) for life to the women's doubles Greysia Polii and Apriani Rahayu who won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in badminton.
"In the framework of the 76th year of Indonesian Independence. We freed the PBB of Greysia's house because of its services in providing achievements at the Tokyo Olympics which is a matter of pride and has increased the nation's immunity during a pandemic", said Zaki after giving the UN Liberation Decree in Tangerang, Wednesday, reported Antara.
He considered that Greysia and Apriliani deserved this award because their achievements would encourage and motivate other athletes to strive for success in both national and international competitions.
"We are proud of the success of Greysia and Apriani and both of them are assets of the nation, where the spirit must be transmitted to the younger generation", said Zaki.
The Regent of Tangerang also gave cash worth IDR 76 million for the pair who won the Olympic gold medal.
Greysia then thanked the Tangerang Regent for this appreciation.
"I express my deepest gratitude to Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar for this great award given to us", said Greysia.

She admitted that she did not think that she would be able to get a lifetime PBB Tax exemption award which she said would be very helpful for her and her family in the future.
"Because being an athlete will not last forever and this will really support me and my family in the future", said Greysia.
Apriyani is also very grateful for the appreciation of the Tangerang regent and the assistance that can make it easier for her to build a place to live in the Tangerang Regency.
"And also in the future, I am also with my family so that I will not be a burden in the PBB tax problem", said Apriyani.
