Megawati Inflamed, President Jokowi Criticized Carelessly: I'm Crying Why, He's Thin Because He Thinks About People!
JAKARTA - The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, asked all parties to unite and work together in facing the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes refraining from criticizing President Joko Widodo regarding the handling of the pandemic.
"I said to Mr. Jokowi. You are strong. We are behind you because this is a trial not only in Indonesia but throughout the world. Try to see it on television, America's superpower has also experienced it", said Megawati during her opening speech for the construction of the protection for the sacred area of Pura Besakih, Bali online, Wednesday, August 18.
"I am very sad that many people seem to vilify Mr. Jokowi. Mr. Jokowi has failed. Our government has failed", she continued.
Megawati said she was concerned because President Jokowi continued to receive criticism that was often conveyed unethically. In fact, she said, it is sad to see the president who looks thinner because he thinks about the fate of his people.
"Look at Mr. Jokowi. I like to cry, you know. He was so skinny. Skinny why? Think about us, think about the people. There are still people who say Jokowi is a frog. That person really has no morals. Coward, I said", firmly Megawati.
Megawati then challenged critics who thought haphazardly. According to him, criticizing the president must be manly.

"I'm also not afraid of being bullied. Try to come face to face. You're manly. We must behave as citizens who have moral ethics. Don't be careless", she added with a trembling voice.
If the government is deficient, Megawati asks that the criticism be conveyed constructively and in a solution.
"I just want that person to come and meet Mr. Jokowi. Where is the failure and what is the concept of that person so as not to fail", said Megawati.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, emphasized that the PDI-P's policy towards President Jokowi's government was very clear.
"PDI-P gives its full support to President Jokowi's government, especially in a difficult situation like this. Party support is getting stronger", said Hasto.
