"On Behalf Of The United States Of America, I Congratulate The Indonesian People On The 76th Anniversary Of Independence Day"

JAKARTA - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States (US) Antony J. Blinken congratulated the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia to all Indonesian people.

"On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Indonesia on the occasion of the independence anniversary on August 17", Blinken said in a press statement at the US Embassy and Consulates in Indonesia, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, August 17.

He stated that his country views Indonesia as an important democratic leader in the region, as well as a country that has an important influence on global priority issues.

Therefore, Blinken emphasized the US commitment to continue to forge strategic partnerships between the two countries, especially in efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We continue to affirm and strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and Indonesia, especially as we work together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and promote a more peaceful, stable, prosperous, and healthy Indo-Pacific", he said.

Blinken stressed that the US is proud to have established a historic partnership with Indonesia, and again congratulated the Indonesian people who on August 17 this year celebrated the 76th independence day of the Republic of Indonesia with great joy.

"We congratulate the Indonesian people who celebrate the anniversary of independence with joy", he said.

Indonesia celebrates the 76th Anniversary of Independence in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Monday, confirmed cases increased by 17.384 to 3.871.738, recovered cases increased by 29.925 to 3.381.884, and deaths increased by 1.245 to 118.833, according to data from the COVID-19 Task Force.
