11 Years Of Trauma Travis Barker Prepares To Fly By Plane Again

JAKARTA - Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker flew in a plane for the first time since a plane crash in 2008. At that time, Barker and his friend Adam Michael Goldstein had a plane crash that killed four people, leaving them the only survivors.

The incident saw Barker spend 11 weeks in hospital and go through 26 surgeries. Since then, the traumatized Barker has not wanted to board the plane. In 2013, he missed the Blink-182 tour to Australia because he didn't want to fly.

Earlier this year, Travis Barker tweeted, "I might fly again." signaling he is ready to board the plane after more than a decade.

In an interview with Men's Health, he admitted that he always felt scared every time he saw a plane. "Every time I see a plane (in the sky), I'm sure it's going to crash and I don't want to see it."

According to TMZ today, August 16, Barker went with his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian to Cabo from Mexico.

“It's a big thing for Travis to fly to Cabo. A plane crash a few years ago was traumatizing. He needed a lot of help to get to this point", a source told PEOPLE.

The source also explains that Kourtney didn't force Travis Barker to fly by plane. "They can travel in the United States without having to fly and Kourtney is perfectly fine with that".
