Boost Citizens' Interest In Vaccination, Scout Quarters Distribute Basic Foods To Vaccination Participants

JAKARTA - Head of the Central Jakarta Kwartir branch, Yadi Rusmayadi, distributed hundreds of food packages and masks to commemorate the 60th Scout Day to underprivileged residents, market traders, online motorcycle taxis, and vaccine centers in eight sub-districts throughout Central Jakarta.

"The distribution of basic needs at the Genjing Park vaccine center, Scouts, is to encourage people to want to be vaccinated. The result is quite a lot of people who want to be vaccinated," he said, Sunday, August 15.

Yadi Rusmayadi said this assistance was a form of Scouts caring about sharing with people affected by PPKM Level 4. The provision of basic necessities, masks to residents has been carried out from August 7 to August 17, 2021.

Scout cadres also participate in educating residents about the importance of wearing masks and the benefits of injecting vaccines.

"The scout cadres, if they see people who are not wearing masks, immediately give them a mask. Then they wear the wrong mask, they are asked to wear the right one," he said.

Yadi appealed to adult scout cadres and the community to participate in behavior change. Later, said Yadi, the cadres and the public who are included in the DPP in the national-level COVID-19 task force will be given directions, socialization.

"Currently we are pushing to reach 2000 scout cadres and the community to participate in behavior change ambassadors. Currently, there are 200 scout cadres who have registered," he said.

Meanwhile, the distribution of basic food items received a positive response from residents around the Rawasari area, Cempaka Putih. Rahman (40) said he was happy with the assistance provided by the Scouts. With this help, he can help himself and his family to eat.

"I'm very happy to get this package, and then I was given another mask," Rahman admitted.
