Gending Ketawang Will Release The Body Of Adipati Mangkunegara IX
SOLO - Gending Ketawang will release the body of Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Ario (KGPAA) Mangkunegara IX to his final resting place at Astana Girilayu, Karanganyar Regency, Sunday, August 15.
"Later, there will be several songs that will be performed, including Gending Menyan Kobar, Gending Laler Megeng, and Gending Renyep. Especially when departing there is Gending Ketawang, which relates to withering," said a representative of the Public Relations Staff of Pura Mangkunegaran Joko Pramudyo in Solo, quoted by Antara, Saturday, August 14th.
Joko said the gendings would be played from the beginning of the procession of the release of the corpse until the completion of the departure.
The funeral procession will begin at 10.00 western Indonesia time. However, mourners are expected to arrive an hour before the procession begins.
"The procession will run with a strict procedure, do not let a new cluster appear. Starting at 09.00 western Indonesia time, it has been closed (the location of the Mangkunegaran Temple, re) due to preparations for the funeral procession," he said.
The funeral procession will begin with reading the biography of Adipati Mangkunegara IX, then there will be remarks from the family and representatives of the Surakarta City Government.
"Followed by prayer, then closing the coffin, later there will be senopati lampah to ask for permission or 'palilah' for the departure of the body," said Joko.

The Mangkunegaran ruler left behind a wife named Gusti Kanjeng Putri Mangkunegara IX and four sons, namely GPH Paundrakarna Jiwa Suryanegara, GRAy Putri Agung Suniwati, GRAj Ancillasura Marina Sudjiwo, and GPH Bhre Cakrahutomo Wira Sudjiwo.
