DPR Member Dedi Mulyadi Surprised That Chinese Foreigners Become Factory Workers In Purwakarta

PURWAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Dedi Mulyadi was surprised to find a foreign citizen (WNA) from China who works as a registrar of goods and cars in a factory in Purwakarta Regency, West Java.

"I was surprised because foreigners should work in skilled workers," said Dedi Mulyadi, quoted by Antara, Saturday, August 14.

The presence of the foreigner from China was met when Dedi was going to meet again with residents of Sukasari District whose bamboo forest was cleared by people claiming to have a social forestry permit to be used as a banana plantation.

On the way, Dedi saw a large cement truck passing by. Apparently, the truck was headed to the Hebel factory which is on the Maracang-Babakan Cikao route. Finally, he headed to the factory to ask for an explanation.

Arriving at the location, Dedi met two guards who were in charge of recording the entry and exit of goods and cars. One of the men was apparently a Chinese foreigner who claimed to be named Lauchen.

The foreigner could not answer Dedi's question who asked who was in charge of the company. He admitted that he only knew his boss named Tayo, who is also a Chinese foreigner and was returning to his home country.

On this finding, Dedi immediately coordinated with the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Service, Titov Firman.

Dedi asked whether it is permissible and customary for a foreigner to work as a clerk in the entry and exit of goods and cars in a company. Because foreigners should work as skilled workers.

On the findings and reports, Titov said he would follow up, so that there would be clarity regarding Chinese foreigners working in the factory.
