Anies Mentions 260 Thousand Jakartans Vaccinated Per Day

"Alhamdulillah, most of them have been vaccinated, we will finish it because in Jakarta now the number of vaccinations can reach up to 260,000 per day," Anies told reporters, Saturday, August 14.

With this very large number per day, Anies is optimistic that it will soon create community immunity or herd immunity in DKI Jakarta. So, the capital city can get out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So, if it reaches 260 thousand a day, the 2 million figure can be achieved in an average of 10 days," said Anies.

Therefore, Anies continues to urge the public to be vaccinated immediately. This is because vaccination is a way to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Now we use masks and then keep our distance, but what can be added, the addition is a vaccine so that even if we are exposed, the risk of an aggravation will be smaller," said Anies.

Previously, Anies Baswedan said that his party currently has a target of vaccinating against COVID-19 for another 4 million targets.

To this day, DKI has vaccinated the first dose to 8,861,264 people and the second dose to 4,007,949 people. With this achievement, Anies increased the vaccination target in the capital city to more than 11 million people.

"So, we still have around 4 million more to achieve herd immunity," Anies said in a live broadcast interview on his Instagram account, Friday, August 13.

Anies explained that the addition of the vaccination target was carried out because 40 percent of those who were vaccinated by the provincial government had non-DKI ID cards but were active in the capital city.

"Indeed, we in Jakarta give vaccines to people who are active in Jakarta. There are at least 4 groups, namely Jakarta ID cards, living in Jakarta but not Jakarta ID cards, people with ID cards outside Jakarta but working in Jakarta, people outside Jakarta but studying or studying in Jakarta or schools in Jakarta," Anies explained.
