COVID-19 Vaccineator: Many Jayapura Residents Are Still Afraid Of Vaccination Due To Chip Hoaks

JAYAPURA - Midwife Beatrix Ondy, one of the vaccinators for the COVID-19 vaccine, admitted that many residents in Jayapura are still afraid of being vaccinated due to circulating fake news or hoaxes on social media.

"It is true that there are hoaxes circulating on social media regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, including the issue if the vaccine contains a 'chip'," said Beatrix, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 13.

To eliminate doubts in the community, it is necessary to involve all parties including religious and community leaders so that they want to be vaccinated.

However, nowadays the enthusiasm of people who want to be vaccinated is starting to increase until they visit vaccination places because vaccination is one of the requirements for traveling between cities.

"Hopefully more and more people will want to be vaccinated, considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is still endemic," said Midwife Beatrix.

The same thing was also expressed by Sister Rahma Sibi separately, who claimed to have been trained for a week.

"There are no significant problems because we only administer injections to residents who have first been checked for health," said Sister Rahma Sibi.
