Boosting Local Products, Pekalongan Regency Government Requires ASN To Wear Jeans

PEKALONGAN - The government of Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, requires state civil servants (ASN) to wear jeans every Friday.

This policy plan was issued as an effort to boost sales of local products, as well as boost the economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The COVID-19 pandemic, which has been going on for more than a year, has made all sectors of the economy slump. Therefore, we require ASN to wear jeans every Friday, as an effort to boost the potential of the local economy," explained Pekalongan Regent Fadia A. Rafiq in Pekalongan, launching Antara. , Wednesday 11 August.

According to him, through this breakthrough, jeans products from this area will be known by the wider community nationally, because so far there are still many people who do not know that jeans products sold in big cities like Bandung, come from Pekalongan.

In addition to requiring ASN to wear jeans every Friday, he said, the Regency Government will also build an icon of a jeans statue as a means of promotion.

"We are designing a jeans statue. The location will be determined in strategic places such as Tugul Nol or other places. In addition, we are also making a rest area for selling and promoting jeans and local batik products," he explained.

Regent Fadia added, as an effort to boost the income of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Regency Government will also build a regional specialty souvenir center.

"Gradually, we will build a local souvenir center so that the economy of MSME players can run in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," concluded the daughter of the late legendary Indonesian musician A. Rafiq.
