Hunt For MIT Terrorists, Three Generals Comb The South Coastal Poso Village

CENTRAL SULAWESI - Three TNI-Police generals intervened to hunt down six members of the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) terrorist who were on the wanted list (DOP). They searched several villages looking for clues to the whereabouts of the fugitives.

The three generals, Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Abdul Rakhman Baso, Danrem 132 Tadulako, Brigadier General Farid Makruf, and Head of Operations of the Madago Raya Task Force, Brigadier General Reza Arief Dewanto.

"The three generals searched several villages in the Poso Pesisir Selatan (PPS) sub-district", said Deputy Chief of Public Relations of Madago Raya Ops, AKBP Bronto Budiyono, in his statement, Wednesday, August 11.

The hunt for the fugitives was carried out on Tuesday, August 11. Together with their troops, they conducted a sweeping of the area by riding a motorbike.

On the sidelines of searching for the whereabouts of the MIT terrorists, the three generals stopped at the Kelapa Dalam Sekat Post in Pantangolemba Village, PPS District, Poso Regency. They take the time to provide moral encouragement so that members remain enthusiastic in their duties.

To note, last July, there were two gunfights between the Madago Raya task force and the MIT Poso DPO in a week. The shooting incident killed three MIT DPOs.

The first incident occurred on Sunday, July 11, in the mountains of Tanah Lanto Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency, which resulted in the deaths of two MIT Poso DPOs.

Then on Saturday, July 17, gunfire resulted in another DPO MIT Poso being killed. The incident occurred in Tolai Induk Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency. Not far from the location of the first shootout.

From these two locations, the Madago Raya Task Force secured several pieces of evidence in the form of revolver firearms, ammunition, rice cake bombs, compasses, flags, and several other pieces of evidence allegedly used by the three dead Poso MIT DPOs.

The three bodies of the MIT Poso DPO were buried in the Public Cemetery area of Poboya Village, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. However, of these three bodies, only one body has been identified by the police.
