Gampong Meunasah And Geunteut In Aceh Besar Submerged In Floods, No Casualties
ACEH - Two villages in Lhoong Subdistrict, Aceh Besar District, Gampong Meunasah Krueng Kala, and Gampong Geunteut were flooded after heavy rains hit the area.
"So far, two villages in Aceh Besar have started to experience flooding, due to heavy rains that have flushed this area since this afternoon at 12:03 WIB", said Head of Regional Disaster Management Agency Aceh Besar, Farhan AP, through Disaster Management Operations Control Centers officer, Maswani, in Aceh Besar, Antara, Tuesday, August 10.
Maswani said the impact of this heavy rain had caused the overflow of the Krueng Kala River or Suhom waterfall in the area. The water from the river then flooded two villages in the area.
Where, said Maswani, the water discharge due to the overflow has also inundated several connecting roads between villages there with a water level of 20-60 centimeters.

So far, Maswani continued, based on reports from Regional Disaster Management Agency officers in the field, the water discharge at the scene of the incident has not yet reached residents' homes and is starting to gradually recede.
"Meanwhile, there have been no casualties, and no one has evacuated, while the impact of this flood is still in the process of collecting data from officers", he said.
Maswani said that so far the Regional Disaster Management Agency Aceh had alerted personnel in the field to monitor the current conditions and situation at the scene, and were assisted by local TNI/Police personnel.
"We also urge the entire community to remain calm, alert, and vigilant in responding to current weather developments, which could potentially lead to flooding and landslides", said Maswani.
