BMKG Notes That These 11 Areas In NTT Have Not Been Touched By Rain For More Than 61 Days
KUPANG - Climatology Class II Kupang The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that 11 areas in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province experienced more than 61 days without rain.
"The condition of HTH (Rainless Days) for more than 61 days shows that these areas are in the extreme long category", said Head of Kupang BMKG Class II Climatology Station, Rahmatulloh Adji, as quoted by Antara, Kupang, Wednesday, August 4.
As many as 11 regions, including Kupang City and 10 regencies, namely Kupang, Belu, Rote Ndao, Sabu Raijua, East Sumba, Lembata, East Flores, Sikka, and Ngada regencies.
With this extreme long HTH condition, he said, vigilance is needed regarding the threat of drought.
Rahmatulloh Adji said that based on the results of the latest early dry season monitoring as of July 31, 2021, it showed that the season zone in NTT was already in the dry season period.

Forecasts of rainfall opportunities show that generally the NTT region experiences very low rainfall or less than 20 millimeters/basis with a 71-100 percent chance.
