Surakarta City Government Strengthens Testing Even Though COVID-19 Figures Start To Slop
SOLO - The Surakarta City Government, Central Java, continues to strengthen testing for the community even though the number of COVID-19 cases is starting to decline.
"Testing must be maintained, so far Solo is still the highest. We maximize everything, tracing, testing. For testing, it can be 1,000-1,200 antigens and PCR (swab test, ed.)", said Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 3.
Based on data from the Surakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, to date, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the city is 23,964 cases. This figure increased by 151 cases from the previous day.
From the same data, the peak of the addition of COVID-19 cases in the City of Solo occurred a few weeks ago, on Thursday, July 15 there was an addition of 544 active cases of COVID-19.
"This is indeed for the addition of the graph starting to slop, to decrease, but not yet fine", he said.
However, he is optimistic that Solo City, which is currently still at level 4 for the level of COVID-19 transmission, could drop to level 3.
"I'm optimistic next week to level 3. Now the graph is down, the cure rate is high, and the vaccination achievement has reached 70 percent", he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Surakarta City COVID-19 Task Force Daily, Ahyani, said that tracking and testing efforts were continuing.
"The main thing is technical in the region, how can friends in the region be more effective in carrying out their activities, including if (patients, ed.) must be isolated in a centralized manner. This is important to sort out people who are exposed and those who are not", he said.
He admits that until now, what is still an obstacle is that most people are reluctant to centralize isolation.
"Even though this really helps himself and helps the environment, the brothers and sisters", he said.
