Anies Baswedan Asked To Reconsider Vaccination Requirements For Activities In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The government has started to make vaccination a condition for activities. DKI Jakarta became the province that initiated this regulation to be applied to the social and economic sectors.
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan considers this regulation appropriate to be applied in the capital city. Because, DKI has vaccinated 7.5 million citizens, according to the target of achieving herd immunity or communal immunity.
However, an epidemiologist from Australia's Griffith University, Dicky Budiman, asked Anies to reconsider the application of the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for residents to carry out activities.
Because, of the 7.5 million vaccination achievements as of last Saturday, July 31, it turns out that there are only 4.2 million Jakarta residents who have been vaccinated. Meanwhile, around 3 million people vaccinated by the DKI Provincial Government are non-DKI residents.
"At the provincial level, it's more than 70 percent, that's good. If it's implemented now, I don't think it's right," said Dicky when contacted by VOI, Monday, August 2.
In addition, Dicky asked Anies to review the distribution of vaccinations in each sub-district. The good thing, said Dicky, is that the DKI Provincial Government has ensured that at least 50 percent of the population living in each sub-district has been vaccinated.
"Make sure that at least 50 percent of each sub-district has been vaccinated evenly. Do not let it be below that, there are 20 percent, 30 percent. This must be ensured to ensure equality and justice. If that has happened, it can be implemented," he said. .
For information, Anies has issued vaccination rules as a condition for activities. The rules are applied to employees and customers of restaurants, food stalls, offices, malls, traditional markets, salons, hotels, to wedding guests.
He said, this effort was made to suppress the spread of the virus when non-essential sectors were opened. "Looking at the fact that in Jakarta the speed of vaccine delivery is quite high, and the reach of those who have been vaccinated has reached 7.5 million. So we decided that the vaccine is part of the stage for community activities," said Anies, Saturday, July 31.
Furthermore, Anies said that the opening in each sector will be carried out in stages, and it is certain that this stage must be related to vaccination.
"Before the activity starts, the perpetrators in that sector, the perpetrators of the activities must be vaccinated first. So, for example, a barber who wants to open, may. But the barber must be vaccinated first, and those who want to shave must have been vaccinated. vaccinate employees first. Those who want to eat in restaurants must also have the vaccine," he said.
Not only that, said Anies, non-essential offices that want to carry out work from office (WFO), shopping centers, entertainment venues may also open if they have been vaccinated. Thus, the opening stage is accompanied by the necessity to vaccinate all perpetrators.
Vaccine requirements as an administrative activity include religious activities. The organizers, as well as the participants, must all have been vaccinated.
"How can I check? There are many ways, but one of them is by using the JAKI application. With this application, you can immediately see whether you have been vaccinated, have you been vaccinated once, have you been vaccinated twice, have you not been vaccinated, it is immediately visible ," he said.
Not only through JAKI, said Anies, verification and validation to check whether residents have been vaccinated or not can also be done using SMS from PeduliLindung as proof of vaccination. Then, there is digital certification from the Ministry of Health.
"So, there are many tools that can be used to show the vaccination status," he said.
