Lalu Muhammad Zohri's Steps At The 2020 Tokyo Olympics Is Over, His Ambition Of Finishing In Under 10 Seconds Evaporated
JAKARTA - Lalu Muhammad Zohri had to settle for fifth place with a record time of 10.26 seconds after completing the men's 100-meter run at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Saturday.
Appearing in lane five heat 4 in the first round, the proud Indonesian sprinter was 0.22 seconds behind South Africa representative Gift Leotlela who finished ahead with a time of 10.04 seconds.
Quoted from ANTARA, the second position was occupied by sprinter from China Bingtian Su who was 10.05 seconds adrift. While Jason Rogers of Saint Kitts and Nevis was third with a time of 10.21 seconds. Thus, the three sprinters are entitled to advance to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Zohri's journey at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics must be completed. Referring to the nick of time, Zohri also failed to complete his ambition to finish in under 10 seconds.
The result of 10.26 seconds is the best time of the season or better than the Tokyo Olympics test event last May with 10.34 seconds.
Zohri's best time is still at 10.03 seconds which he incised in the 2019 Osaka Golden Grand Prix series in Japan, which also led him to the Tokyo Olympics.
