National Police Chief: Cooperation With Community Organizations In Accelerating Vaccination

JAKARTA - To accelerate the vaccination program, National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, reviewed the COVID-19 vaccination program at the PP Muhammadiyah Da'wah Headquarters, Menteng Raya Street, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 29.

The vaccination activity at the PP Muhammadiyah Office is a collaboration between the National Police and carried out in 20 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Not only reviewing, but Listyo also gave instructions to all levels of the Regional Police of each region to cooperate with several community organizations by forming a vaccination battalion.

"This collaboration has carried out 20 to 27 activities in approximately 20 regions, which of course is very helpful in accelerating vaccination activities", said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to reporters, Thursday, July 29.

This step, said Listyo, was carried out because the growth in the number of active national daily cases was still quite high.

So a similar cooperation strategy is needed to suppress the growth rate of the national daily active case number of the COVID-19 virus.

"Because apart from enforcing health protocol compliance, the second is to speed up vaccination", said the National Police Chief.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mukti, said the cooperation had been implemented in 20 provinces including West Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and DKI Jakarta.

In its implementation, Muhammadiyah is assisted by local police chiefs to realize the acceleration of vaccination in each region.

"Therefore, we would like to thank the National Police Chief and the team in charge, and the Jakarta Hospital Alliance. They have been extraordinary for being at the forefront of vaccination services", explained Abdul Mukti.
