JAKARTA - A total of five cities/regencies in Indonesia dominated the highest number of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the 25th week of June 2021.
"What is clear is that there is an increase in DHF or a decrease in other areas. He stated that Bekasi City, West Java, was ranked first in the number of dengue cases with 796 cases based on the report from the Director General of Prevention and Control of Vector Infectious Diseases and Zoonoses of the Ministry of Health in the latest data update on the official P2PTVZ Facebook page of the Ministry of Health.
Then, Buleleng Regency (Bali) took second place with 770 cases, in third position Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara with 511 cases, Karawang, West Java in fourth position with 494 cases, and East Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta in fifth position with 464 cases. case.
According to Didik Budijanto, dengue cases until the 25th week reached 19,156 cases, 405 of which were reported from a total of 477 regencies/cities in Indonesia. A total of 160 patients were reported to have died.
He added that there were 1,406 additional cases of dengue fever with an additional four deaths from North Central Timor Regency, one case, Ende Regency, one case, Rote Ndao Regency, and Southwest Sumba Regency, one case.
"The number of districts/cities infected is 405 in 33 provinces," he said. The proportion of patients was dominated by the age group 15-44 years as much as 38 percent and 5-14 years reaching 37.39 percent.
Meanwhile, in the same period 2020, the number of reported cases reached 108,303 cases. A total of 747 of them died.

He said the Ministry of Health had completed the finalization of two important documents of the National Strategy for Dengue Control which will be launched on Friday, July 30.
"In the National Strategy there are six strategies, one of which is strengthening commitment to the central government, regional governments as well as stakeholders, partners in vector control efforts, increasing surveillance capacity and early detection management," he said.
