Emergency PPKM Powerful In Suppressing COVID-19 In Garut, Number Of Positive Cases Shrinks To 100 People
GARUT - New cases confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Garut Regency, West Java, fell below 100 people. This number is much different before PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions), whose cases were above 100, even touched 400 people.
"Based on the data we received from the Health Office this week, the number of COVID-19 cases continues to decline", said Public Relations of the Garut COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Yeni Yunita in Garut, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 22.
He said the latest report in the field, Wednesday, July 21, showed that the results of swab tests on people who had close contact with positive COVID-19 patients were 57 people, different from the previous day, which was over 100 people.
In addition to the decline in the number of positive cases of COVID-19, he said, some cases were reported to have recovered after undergoing self-isolation or in hospitals, namely 145 people.
"Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been monitored, an increase of 145 people, today also reported cases of positive confirmation of COVID-19 died as many as 16 people", he said.
According to Yeni, daily reports of COVID-19 cases in Garut continue to show a decline after the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) since July 3, 2021.
The central government's policy of implementing PPKM in Garut has proven to have reduced the number of cases of the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. "This is proven that PPKM can suppress the spread of COVID-19", he said.

Despite the decline in cases, Dian appealed to the public to maintain and always be disciplined in implementing health protocols by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and no crowding.
"We all have to remain vigilant, remain disciplined, obey strict procedures so that after the PPKM is gradually opened, COVID-19 cases do not rise again", he said.
