Sri Mulyani Claims Social Assistance Has Been Disbursed On Time
JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani claimed that the social assistance (bansos) budgeted by the government for poor families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic had been disbursed on time.
The government, she said, would continue to boost the disbursement of funds in the second half of 2021 to keep it on schedule. Sri Mulyani also said that for the Family Hope Program (PKH) IDR 28.32 trillion had been disbursed.
The money will be received by 10 million beneficiary families (KPM) per April 2021. Meanwhile, from June to July it has reached IDR 15.79 trillion. According to Sri Mulyani, the rest will be given until December.
"This is on track and always on time. In fact, we always collect it within three months and pay it upfront", she said at a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Saturday, July 17.
Other social assistance has also been running and disbursed according to schedule. Among them, basic food cards for 18.8 million KPM with a budget of IDR 40.31 trillion from January to March, of which the total recipients were only 15.9 million.
The government boosts distribution
Although not entirely, Sri said the government guaranteed the Ministry of Social Affairs was able to boost disbursement to 100 percent. The beneficiaries will receive IDR 200.000 per month.
"Today, IDR 24.11 trillion has been disbursed or 59.8 percent of the total budget of IDR 40.31 trillion for the basic food card program", she said.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani said that the cash social assistance program (BST) was intended for 10 million KPM, each of which received IDR 300 thousand per month until June, had only been received by 9.6 million KPM.
The monthly budget reaches IDR 2.89 trillion, with a total allocated fund of IDR 18.08 trillion.
"This means that for these six months there are 10 million that can be assisted with IDR 300 thousand per month. The budget of IDR 18 trillion has been disbursed, IDR 12.31 trillion or 68.1 percent, which we will add", she explained.
