TNI Commander Praises Students As Pioneers Of National Vaccination

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto praised and thanked students who had become pioneers in the implementation of national vaccination.

"Hopefully the implementation of this national vaccination can continue to be carried out and informed to all students in Indonesia, to jointly support and implement national vaccinations," said the TNI Commander, during a review of the vaccination attack, at the Bulungan Youth Center, South Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 14th.

The vaccination program at the Bulungan Youth Center was initiated by the Nusantara Student Executive Board (BEM) and the All-Indonesian BEM involving 4 Pillars, with a target of 2,000 people per day led by Dr. Onky Rozie with the slogan "Students Dare to Vaccinate".

The TNI Commander hopes that similar activities can be carried out throughout Indonesia.

"I hope this activity can continue to be carried out and be informed to all students in Indonesia, to jointly support the implementation of national vaccination," he said.

Marshal Hadi together with Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also visited the vaccination center, at the Smesco building, Jakarta.

The TNI commander and his entourage were welcomed by Anne Patricia Sutanto as the head of the vaccination executive at the venue.

According to Anne, health workers at the Smesco Building are able to vaccinate 2,000 to 3,000 people per day.

"We would like to thank the TNI health workers who have been assigned here. The presence of the TNI health personnel means a lot to us," he said while talking to the TNI Commander.

The TNI Commander also visited the vaccination center at the Margasiswa I PP PMKRI Foundation (Republic of Indonesia Catholic Student Association) in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta.

According to PMKRI Chairman Benedict Papa, his party is able to vaccinate 500 to 1,000 people per day with the assistance of health workers from the TNI.
