Samsung Has A Deal With Tesla, For What?

JAKARTA - The future Tesla Cybertruck will have a camera sensor from Samsung. Evidenced by the signing of an agreement between the two companies that includes nearly half a billion US dollars.

As reported by SamMobile, Wednesday, July 14, the deal began with publications claiming that Samsung's latest camera module will be used for the Elon Musk company's electric vehicle.

Cybertruck itself is an electric SUV with a futuristic look that was first designed in 2019. This prototype vehicle model is equipped with a series of cameras connected to the dashboard screen.

Samsung has become a supplier of Tesla electric vehicle components, one of which is the battery. With this deal, Samsung has signed about USD 436 million for the supply of the new image sensor.

Others, Samsung is rumored to be supplying Tesla with new PixCell LED headlights. Not long ago, Samsung did announce the new ISOCELL Auto 4AC, which was built and optimized specifically for automotive applications. Most likely, this technology will be seen in the Cybertruck or even Tesla's upcoming electric car.

For information, the ISOCELL Auto 4AC has the company's CornerPixel solution that increases the field of view for a safer driving experience. The size of this sensor includes 1/3,7 inches with a resolution of 1.2 MP and a photosite size of 3 micrometers. Can be placed also in various areas of the car which provides a wide viewing angle.
