Recovering From COVID-19, Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron Shares Powerful Tips

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron was declared cured after being exposed to COVID-19. He said the results of his Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test were negative.

"As of July 9, 2021, I just received the results of the PCR test that the results were negative for COVID-19", Ghufron told reporters, Friday, July 9.

He said his current health condition is recovering as before being exposed to COVID-19 after undergoing self-isolation and treatment.

Furthermore, Ghufron advised COVID-19 patients to maintain their diet and take the necessary vitamins. In addition, he also asked them to continue their activities so as not to stress during self-isolation.

In addition, he also reminded COVID-19 patients to sunbathe and not feel isolated from friends and family by keeping in touch.

Ghufron said he deliberately conveyed the news of his recovery because currently there is so much news of deaths from the virus.

"It is important for me to say this because, in the midst of the news of the death of friends, scholars, friends due to COVID-19 which continues to flood the listening and reading rooms, social media and groups are getting more and more terrible", he said.

He said that the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was true. But he reminded that the percentage of patients recovering from this virus was no less.

"That many who died (that, ed) are true. However, the percentage of recovery is actually much higher", he said.

"Come on alumni of COVID-19, if we are unable to treat our sick friends, let's at least give them the spirit of life. Spread success stories if you are able to fight COVID-19", added Ghufron.

As previously reported, there were 113 employees and related parties within the KPK who tested positive for COVID-19. Of that number, 107 people are self-isolating at home, five are being treated with mild to moderate symptoms, and one person has died.

"Data as of June 30, 2021, there were a total of 113 employees and other related parties within the KPK who were confirmed to be positive for COVID-19", said Spokesperson for the KPK for Prevention, Ipi Maryati.
